I can see 'several' piles of books every time I glance up from the book I'm reading. You can almost see them shuffling for attention... Me Next.. No, ME next... [lol]
I’ve tripled the number of bookcases I have since we’ve moved into a bigger house. They’re all full. Hmmm, I guess I need to refinish the one in the garage.
I have 8 floor to ceiling bookshelves, plus 2 half bookshelves. All full and all with books on top. The rest of my books are scattered through the house in various piles with narrow 'tracks' between so I can move around... That's a slight exaggeration... but only slight....

As soon as my books enter the house, they get told by the other ones that there is a long wait. ;)
LOL! Mine either get read pretty quickly or only after 3-5 YEARS. There's very little in between.
Yep. Or I stare back at the piles of books and complain of nothing to read.
Ditto! TOO much choice sometimes just shuts everything down and I go into a decision loop...
I have some that are older than 20 years. Mind you, most of them were gifts.
