I ditched mine a few years ago when I realised I hardly ever watched the thing & mostly had it on as background. If I want to watch a movie or TV show its either streaming or DVD.
I watch very little tv. It’s only on during the day because my MIL has it on. I have maybe 3-4 shows that I will watch. Usually I’m either reading or playing cards.
I only ever watched the odd movie, TV show or the news. Over the years I watched less & less.... Plus I'd often read during the ads or just mute the thing. I can use that space for other things - like bookshelves!
[grin] I watched a LOT of TV growing up. Rather bizarrely I only started reading heavily from around age 14. I've been trying to make up the time ever since!
Our tv has not worked for ages. We used to have Netflix, until the Wii stopped supporting Netflix in 2016. Then we just had basic channels until the tv slowly started to fail. For a while I could adjust colors and contrast to make it mostly normal. Then one day I turned it on and the screen was white. No amount adjusting could make a picture appear. I feel like this was 2018ish? We have a projector to watch movies and that's it.
Most TV is trash anyway, so you're not missing much. Plus I positively HATE adverts so not having a TV really cuts down a LOT on that annoyance in my life.

If someone starts a Butlerian jihad to get rid of cellphones and tvs and the like I'll be right in the ranks...
Love this! I find myself watching it less and less. And when I do, it's usually an adaptation of a book I've read.
I can imagine...! [lol]

I've been like this since I was a small child! (Maybe that explains a lot...)

Smart guy. Though, depending on what you watch, you can learn a lot from TV, as well.
True. Much like YouTube, it all depends *what* you watch!
There is so much to offer. And so much information. I don't understand why people don't use that opportunity to get smarter.
I LOVE it. There's SO much to learn from out there - and all just a click away.... and its FREE!
Exactly, what's not to like?
