Its one reason why I think we've never found anyone 'Out There' (not that we've been looking THAT long). Technologically advanced beings probably inevitably build nukes and are politically diverse enough & short-sighted enough & xenophobic enough to use them before they can make contact with anyone else.

I don't think we have to be afraid of that. We'll destroy earth first before those idiots can go into outer space and cause havoc there.

That is one of the possibilities. Or they are so advanced that they don't want to have anything to do with us. LOL
