There was a drive-in theatre we always went to when I was in high school, it was such a novelty and we loved it.
There's a drive-in here that Eleanor and I love. We first went when they showed Taylor Swift's Eras Tour Film, and it was the next best thing to having been at the show. It was so beautiful to watch all these little girls who didn't know each other, arms full of friendship bracelets, dancing and singing together.
We've gone to quite a few shows since then. They're a dying breed but luckily ours seems to be doing well and they added a second screen last season. The food is also phenomenal.
It would never work here with the rain... But they do have 'Movies in the Park' events in places when the weather's decent - so 1-2 weeks per year in the south-east corner of England.

LOL!
Yeah, it would be completely miserable and not at all logical in the rain.
