Just saw this interesting Met Office weather chart comparing the 'classic' heatwave of 1976 to what we've just been hit by. I remember the Summer of '76 very well as it was around the time I took my 'O' levels. I'm 'planning' to read up about '76 later in the year for a bit of nostalgia... [lol]

We were toasty last week.. hope you've managed to stay cool!
How did you like your FIRST British heatwave? It was only pretty unbearable here on the last of the 3 day event. Mostly I stayed indoors, stayed hydrated and ate some ice-cream... Hard life I know.
It was rough, although I experienced something similar a few years ago in the town I grew up in (also unaccustomed to heatwaves). We figure we'll have to look into some kind of portable AC, it is hard to keep our place cool due to how it's situated / windows etc.
I've been considering some sort of AC too.... It looks like hot/humid summers are going to be a 'thing' going forward.
We’re about to get three days of 100° (38ish) weather. I’m staying indoors, plus our basement is completely below ground and always cold. So if the A/C goes out we have options.
Good thought! We've had record breaking temps in May & June so far and are expecting more in July & August. We might well hit 40C+ again.... Thankfully Global Warming is a *Myth*.
We’re riding to hell in a hand basket!
Yup. In 10-20 years when the whole world is on fire there will be those who'll say: Why didn't anyone *WARN* us....?
We were on holidays in the hottest week of the year so far. We were at the seaside and had a little breeze, so it was probably better than in many places. Still, far too hat.
Yup.. We're all having a *very* toasty year so far. Enjoy your holiday. Keep COOL!
We're back. We still had a nice holiday, especially since we met our boys. And it has cooled down since.
