Obviously fake, but VERY funny... especially if you've used the Tube in a normal summer, never mind on a record breaking June heatwave - hottest June day since 1976... and BOY do I remember 1976!!!

I know it's hot over there because Rod Dreher is in London complaining about it....and he's from Louisiana. XD

Apparently we're in some sort of 'heat bubble' for another day or so. Part of the issue is that we Brits just aren't used to it, partly its that our entire infrastructure is designed to keep us WARM and part of it is the stupid levels of humidity. NOT nice ATM! Oh, and generally nowhere has AC. My local supermarket does which is nice for a few minutes... but I REALLY felt it when I left. It was like walking into an oven. I wonder what July & August will bring? Probably SNOW.

The South and Southwest here are unimaginable without AC. I have no idea how 19th century southerners managed, especially the rich ones who were always wearing ridiculous amounts of clothes. No wonder they were always angry and itching for a fight. I'm wearing a t-shirt and gym shorts sitting in front of a window AC unit and still longing for September...

I have the same feelings of incredulity with Brits across the Empire either fighting in tight tunics (I'm re-watching Zulu ATM!) or just living their lives in places like India - in FULL dress.... No wonder they changed their clothes 5-6 times a day!!!!

I keep thinking of getting a portable AC unit... but it doesn't seem worth it for 4-5 days a year... until it hits 40C then I think "Why didn't I BUY one!"
