I wonder what their ST connection is...I know two cities in North America (Riverside, Iowa, and Vulcan, Alberta) both use Star Trek as their tourist draw. Riverside claims to be the birthplace of Kirk, on the basis of nothing more than Gene Roddeberry saying "Sure, give me your money and he was born in Riverside!"
@ Mudpuddle: There's definitely a HUGE fan involved there somewhere!
@ Stephen: I'm guessing it's just where the fan lives (with a bit of spare cash by the looks of things!). I'd heard of the Riverside thing. I assumed that it was mentioned somewhere rather than it was 'bought' off Roddenberry... [lol] I did know Kirk was from Iowa from my favourite 'Voyage Home' quote [grin].
Riverside claims permission from Roddenberry, but given the way he was trying to get Nimoy to hock Vulcan necklaces, I'm assuming a little cash for approval was involved. Only an assumption, though!

This is so cool! Live long and prosper. Merry Christmas!
This is a pretty incredible Star Trek Christmas light display of the U.S.S. Enterprise. These Christmas lights come from East Peoria, Illinois.
Thanks Brian, I'll do my best. Merry Christmas to you & yours....
my gosh! it'd be worth the money to fly there just to see that! they must be the mega star trek fans of all time!

A symbol of hope for the coming year?
