@ Mudpuddle: Yeah, scooters aren't exactly great at impact resistance! I've only been on the back of various bikes so appreciate how vulnerable it is. My brother was involved in several motorbike accidents in his youth but was much safer when he 'graduated' to cars!!

i had a Lambretta back in the day. it was lots of fun until i got crunched by a car and ended up in the hospital...
