I've heard it said that love is like oxygen.

LOL - THAT takes me back.... [grin] Although I do far prefer 80's music to 70's - maybe except for early Punk. THAT rocked....

How's things? Were you affected in any way by the BIG storm recently? How's Covid where you are?

Things are not terrible.

We live in Ohio, so coastal storms don't reach us; we do get a little extra wind or rain around those times, but nothing like those that are in the zone.

I like music from just about every decade.

How are you?

I'm a big fan of all kinds of music too - although I do struggle with Jazz [grin] Although I DO have a VERY strange CD of Bjork singing Jazz - in *Icelandic* which can fry your brain!! My latest purchase (I'm old school and still buy CD's) was German electronic music from the mid-70's.

No hurricane's here. Mostly cloudy with rain over the past few months. Apparently we had our 4th wettest May ever this year so THAT was fun.

I'm good. Settling into the whole retirement thing. 17 months now and not a moment of regret or boredom (as suspected). SO much to do! [lol]

I love jazz.

"German electronic music from the mid-70's" Nice! I'm a big Tangerine Dream fan.

Retirement sounds wonderful!

The CD is by Conrad Schnitzler who worked with Tangerine Dream. Another CD from them is in the post. My brother was a BIG fan of them back in the 1970's and passed on that fandom to me too - along with a love of Tomita.

I'm still *trying* with Jazz but it's an uphill struggle I think [grin] I'm much more of a Blues person in that sense.

Ahh, Tomita has some great stuff too.

My love of jazz came from listening to Sting. His working with jazz musicians and, at least one time, Gil Evans led me to the work Miles Davis did with Gil Evans.

I also enjoy European jazz, a lot of which is on the ECM. Jan Garbarek's album, Twelve Moons is one of my all-time favorites.

Maybe I'm listening to the wrong Jazz. I do like Sting's voice though...

Thanks Mike. I'll listen to that on Sunday afternoon for a bit of a chill out. BTW - Saying that I don't 'get' Jazz... I've just listened to (yet again) Head Hunters (1973) by Herbie Hancock - again thanks to my brother's musical tastes rubbing off on me - which I really like. I've also enjoyed quite a bit of the light jazz that's often played as incidental music on 1970's US crime movies... Does that count?? [grin]

Herbie Hancock is a legend.

Light jazz as a genre is hit or miss for me, but there are some fantastic artists who sometimes have a lighter sound. Pat Metheny comes to mind.
