Society’s greatest curse? I think not.

I thought it was just another 50's fear fest novel but not so apparently...

This from Amazon:

Artemis Smith is a prominent strategist of the 1950-60's Rainbow civil rights coalition movements, author of the GLBT pulp fiction best sellers Odd Girl, The Third Sex and This Bed We Made. The Author is an established professional Philosopher, Poet, Artist and Futurist. The Third Sex originally titled "Joan of Washington Square" has been cited since 1959 by nearly all the name reviewers of the genre and is a recognized classic in sustained demand by modern researchers. The Information Science papers on Sexology included in this volume, as well as the Author's Preface, are intended as useful additions to all Gender Studies high school and college curricula. For those who are too young to know the GrandmaMoseX of the GLBT community, Artemis Smith, also now known as Artemis Smith Morpurgo, is a contemporary of Andy Warhol and a still-living 21st Century Artist. Besides operating her own successful off-Broadway workshop that gave rise to many of today's vintage Film and Television celebrities, in the 1950-60's she was a prominent strategist of the Rainbow and GLBT civil rights movements, and was the first author to tell the Gay Community at pre-Stonewall 1960's ECHO Conferences to look toward the Advertising Industry to change the Gay Image, and to hurry up and "Come out of the Closet" or get left out of the civil rights movement.

Interesting!! I guess the 'curse' note was added by the publisher to cover itself against any potential attacks???

Wow! I had no idea. I’ve never taken a gender studies course, so I’m not familiar with a lot.

Total surprise here too. Most of the pulp covers I post are from the 30's-50's and reflect the attitude to women in those times - BAD! So I post them, essentially, to 'take the piss' and show how things have changed since then (a LOT). I tend not to do a whole lot of research for each cover - so thanks for prompting me to do so here. The things you learn from the Internet... [grin]
